Freaky Science
Freaky Science is a one-hour live show aimed at the junior primary age group (grades 1-4), and uses two "crazy scientist" characters to encourage curiousity and wonder regarding physical science. The content, while engaging and funny, is solidly based in the syllabus, and lays the groundwork for understanding how the scientific method works. All the experiments in the show are done with basic household ingredients, which are cheap and safe to use.
The pilot of this project was sponsored by SASOL, and was voted Best Exhibit at the Sci-Bono Festival, Newtown, Johannesburg (2006).
It also ran to acclaim at the 2007 Sasol TechnoX science and technology expo, where it was named Best Exhibit by an independant panel of judges.
In 2008, it was once again a winner at both Sci-Bono and Sasol TechnoX.
2009 saw the show reaching 40 primary schools in the Gauteng area.
